This lot consists of a Soviet Order of Labor, 2nd Class, with S/N 18059.
In perfect condition!
There is only one Type, and no Variations, of the 2nd Class Order.
As all other Classes, made of silver, gold-plating, and enamels. For the 2nd Class of the Order, the enamels are red (the banner at the six o'clock position, and the star at the twelve o'clock position) and blue (the background area in the center of the gear), while the 1st Class Order has both these areas in red enamel. Another difference with the 1st Class Order is that the 2nd Class does not have the upper, outside edge of the eight-pointed star gold-plated, only the lower part of it.
The 2nd Class Order was produced from 1974 up to 1991. The lowest S/N observed for this 2nd Clas of the Order was #1.912 and the highest was #55.936.
This one has a relatively low S/N, probably dating it back from the late 70's, early 80's.
The Order of Labor Glory was established by a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on January 18, 1974. The Order was awarded for labor achievement, and was designed by U. M. Yegorov, and was awarded until the collapse of the former USSR in 1991.
